Deepika next to Yash Chopra's flim: Deepika Padukone is all set to honour filmmaker Yash Chopra at an event in Delhi on October 25 at the behest of the Swiss government. Even though she hasn't ever met the producer-director, the actress, who has acted in his Yash Raj Films' Lafangey Parindey, is feeling honoured to felicitate him for his contribution to Hindi cinema.
A source reveals, "Deepika feels this would be a great chance to meet him. She plans to take a break from her upcoming promotion schedule for Break Ke Baad and travel to Delhi for it."When the Swiss officials called to ask her to honour Yash Chopra, she immediately confirmed her presence.
She has grown up watching his films, and is a huge admirer of his work. Says Ms Padukone, "It is an honour to present Yashji an award. I feel he is one of the greatest filmmakers of all time, and I have immense respect for him and his work."
Sources add that the legendary filmmaker too has expressed his fondness for the actress. "He was overheard telling a friend that he has watched most of her films and thinks he'd like to direct her some day."
