Pakistani actress Veena Malik, whose 'nude' photos in a magazine had sparked outrage in her country, has now come under criticism from her own fraternity. Lollywood actor Sana Nawaz, who arrived in India via Attari land border on Monday for the shooting of a Punjabi movie, ''Dil Pardesi Ho Gaya'', said , "She has only brought embarrassment to us."
Sana, who has earlier worked for Bollywood film ''Kafila'', said, "I don't want to talk about her, eik machli sarae talab ko ganda kar deti hai (a rotten fish can spoil the waters).
Dismissive about Veena's standing in Pakistan's film industry, she said, "She is trying to portray herself as an artist through cheap gimmicks and bringing a bad name to our country."She said that Veena had got embroiled in a similar controversy in beginning of her career and ''should know her limits''.
Talking about India-Pakistan ties, Sana said actors from both nations were actually torchbearers of ''Aman Ki Asha''. ''The governments of both countries may differ in their approach, but we (actors) believe in spreading love and brotherhood," she emphasized. Urging both governments to simplify the visa regime, she said, "Getting a visa to India visa is the toughest task in Pakistan."
Veena hogged the limelight after she testified against her boyfriend, Pakistani bowler Mohammed Asif, alleging he was involved in match-fixing. She became popular after her stint in the fourth season of a reality show. She was denounced by Islamic clerics for her nude photos in a magazine.
