Bipasha Basu's loss is Vidya Balan's gain. Apparently, the Bong bomb-shell was approached for the heroine's part in The Dirty Picture but Bips turned it down whereas Vidya grabbed it with both her hands.
Also, it was Sudhir Mishra who was signed on to direct the film but producer Ekta Kapoor had second thoughts and asked Milan Luthria to take a look at the script. Milan was busy with Once Upon A Time In Mumbaifor Ekta at that time but agreed to do the project. And the rest, as we say, is history.
The film that opened very well across the country is doing exceedingly well all over, and Vidya who has proved her talent time and again, is currently the only heroine who can pull off a film on her own shoulders. Bipasha must be surely regretting on this one.
